Actions Tree

The Actions Tree provides a hierarchical view of all actions across your organization, organized by their strategic context. Instead of a flat list, you see exactly where each action fits within the plan structure.

Tree Hierarchy

Actions are displayed in an expandable tree structure:

Plan
└── Orientation
    └── Objective
        └── Key Result
            └── Action

Each level shows:

• Expand/collapse toggles — Drill down into specific branches
• Progress indicators — Visual progress bars at each level
• Action count badges — How many actions exist at each node
• Status badges — Quick status overview for items

Click any node to expand it and see its children. Click an action to open the full action details modal.

Source Tabs

The tree view organizes actions by their source. Use the tabs at the top to switch between:

Plan Actions

Actions originating from strategic plans, organized by:

Plan → Orientation → Objective → Key Result → Action

This view shows how day-to-day work connects to strategic priorities. Each plan appears as a top-level node, and you can drill down through the strategic framework to individual actions.

Committee Actions

Actions originating from committee meetings, organized by:

Committee → Meeting → Action

This view shows actions that emerged from governance discussions. Each committee appears as a top-level node with its meetings and associated actions.

Navigating the Tree

Expanding and Collapsing

• Click the arrow icon next to any node to expand or collapse it
• Expand multiple branches simultaneously to compare across objectives
• Collapsed nodes show summary counts so you can prioritize where to drill down

Viewing Action Details

• Click on any action card within the tree to open the action details modal
• The modal shows the full action context including its position in the hierarchy
• From the modal, you can update status, completion percentage, and add comments

Navigating to Source

• Click the plan or committee name to navigate directly to that item in its source module
• This lets you switch quickly between the monitoring view (Steer) and the management view (Plan or Organize)

Progress at Every Level

The tree view calculates and displays progress at each level of the hierarchy:

Level	Progress Calculation
Action	Completion percentage (0–100%)
Key Result	Average progress of linked actions
Objective	Weighted from key results, indicators, and actions
Orientation	Aggregated from child objectives
Plan	Overall aggregated progress

Tip

Use the tree view to quickly identify bottlenecks. If a plan’s progress is low, expand it to find which orientations, objectives, or actions are lagging behind.

Filtering

The tree view respects the global filter bar. When filters are active:

• Only matching actions are shown
• Parent nodes with no matching children are hidden
• Progress recalculates based on visible items only

Note

The actions tree provides a read-only monitoring perspective. To edit plan structure (orientations, objectives, key results), use the Plan module. To manage committee meetings, use the Organize module.
