Views

The Steer module’s Dashboard tab offers three ways to view and interact with actions across your organization. Switch between views depending on your needs — visual status tracking, detailed sorting, or time-based planning.

Kanban View

The Kanban board organizes actions into four status columns:

ColumnDescription
PendingActions not yet started
In ProgressActions currently being worked on
BlockedActions waiting on a dependency
CompletedFinished actions

Each column header shows a count badge with the number of actions in that status.

Action Cards

Each action appears as a card showing:

  • Source tag — The objective, key result, or committee the action belongs to
  • Title — Action name (truncated to 2 lines)
  • Progress bar — Visual completion percentage
  • Due date — Color-coded by urgency:
    • Red: Overdue or due today
    • Orange: Due in 1–3 days
    • Blue: Due in 4–7 days
    • Gray: Due in 8+ days
  • Assigned user — Avatar of the responsible person (or unassigned indicator)

Drag and Drop

Drag action cards between columns to update their status. When you drop an action:

  • The status updates immediately (optimistic UI)
  • Moving to Completed automatically sets completion to 100%
  • The change syncs with the server in the background

Table View

The table view displays all actions in a sortable, searchable list:

ColumnDescription
TitleAction name — click to open details
SourceOrigin plan or committee with icon
StatusClickable status badge
PriorityHigh, Medium, or Low
Due DateDeadline — highlighted in red if overdue

Key Features

  • Sort by any column — Click column headers to sort ascending/descending
  • Status cycling — Click the status badge on any row to cycle through statuses (Pending → In Progress → Blocked → Completed)
  • Overdue highlighting — Past-due actions display their date in red
  • Search — Filter by title or source name
  • Auto-collapse — Large lists show the first 10 items with an expand button

Calendar View

The calendar view displays actions and meetings on a monthly grid:

  • Use the previous/next arrows to navigate between months
  • The current date is highlighted
  • Dates with events show color-coded dots

Viewing Events

  • Click any date with events to open a detail panel showing all items for that day
  • Events include both actions (by due date) and meetings (by scheduled date)
  • Click an individual event to open its details modal

Locale Support

The calendar respects your language setting:

  • English: en-CA format (Sunday-first weeks)
  • French: fr-CA format (Monday-first weeks)

Choosing the Right View

  • You want a visual overview of action statuses
  • You need to quickly move actions between statuses
  • You’re running a status review meeting
  • You want to see the balance of work across status columns

Archive Controls

All views support archive filtering through the filter bar:

  • Active only (default) — Show only current, non-archived actions
  • Archived only — Show only archived/completed actions
  • All — Show everything

Archived actions display a visual badge to distinguish them from active ones.
